MS Monday: Stress is Your Enemy

Stress can be your enemy but to a person with MS it can destroy their everyday life.

Stress can come in many different forms

A person with MS needs to stay relaxed, in control, but then life gets in the way and they feel the effects more than you or I do.

They already have fatigued muscles, headaches, muscle cramps, exhaust easily and so on. When you find your self under a lot of stress you get fatigued, headaches, become rundown. A person with MS already feels this way on an everyday basis. A little bit of stress can set their day into a downward spiral, some days even before it begins.

We need to have a way to relieve stress. Anything that allows you to relax away the tension so you can clear your head and handle the stress. Some people use

Bubble baths…but this is difficult with MS patients because it’s hard to get in and out of a tub without help.

Yoga…This is a great relaxing technique but some MS patients, who lost the use of their limbs will find this difficult to do.

Meditation and Massage…these are good techniques that are good stress relievers and are easy for an MS patient to do.

Reading…this is also a great stress reliever and can be done by an MS patient as long as their sight hasn’t been effected,

Puzzles, games, anything like that.

The most important thing I’m trying to get across is to find something that works for you, and one that you’re able to perform without causing you stress.

I try to help my sister with her stress level by trying to keep anything that will stress her out of our home. You and I know that’s hard. Life gets in the way with bills, anxiety over being sick, getting anxious about not being able to do what she use to do and so on. But what I’m able to do and staying positive around her helps.

Stress is your enemy but you can control what is does to your life.

Find a stress relief and let your loved ones know that you need more positive and less negative around you and you will enjoy more days filled with energy, alertness and a little less pain.

Here’s a little peak into what I’m working on.

If I knew then, A Young Adult Story

Angel dreamed of a life of freedom. One filled with love that didn’t come with a price. She hid the pain until Jax entered her life. Can he give her what she needs to let go of the past or will he leave her with a bigger challenge that will change her future?

Angel fought to keep her family safe from the evil that threatened to destroy her. She made sure she was always the one in front of her sisters when her Mother yielded her wrath. Keeping the danger that surrounded them a secret to lessen the blow she lived a lie that everyone believed, except for one. He was her only source of happiness until one day he was gone. With nothing left and no one to turn to she must outrun her past, and overcome the secret that she fights to hide, before her Mother destroys everything she has left to hold on to.

Last Chance to Run, A Romantic Suspense

What if you found out the daughter you buried was alive and being held captive by a man you thought you killed?

Ron Daily gave everything he had to the FBI. It was his life since his daughter’s death. Then his world crashed in around him when he’s told the terrorist he thought he destroyed staged her death. As obstacles mount against his daughter he forms an alliance with another agent, a stubborn redhead with links to a secret from his past. Can he fight feelings for a woman that will never love him once she finds out the truth?
